Graduate, Certificate and Executive Training Programmes

The Master’s Degree in HR Management, offered through UCCI’s Executive Training Centre is a graduate program that enhances the knowledge and skills of current and aspiring HR practitioners. UCCI has collaborated with the Cayman Islands Society of HR professionals to design a program that suits the needs of professionals working in the Cayman Islands and in international settings. Two professional certifications are offered as part of the degree.

The Masters Degree in HR Management consists of three modules offered over an 18 month period. Classes are held at a range of times scheduled to meet the needs of working professionals. Successful completion of all three modules entitles a student to be awarded the Master’s Degree in Human Resource Management.

The Executive Certificate in Management is presented jointly by the Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto, and the University College of the Cayman Islands. The program provides participants with the knowledge and skills relevant to management in business, organizations and government. The program consists of a range of management topics presented as intensive sessions over a weekend (Friday/Saturday) once every month and is designed to minimize time away from work.

Graduates will receive an Executive Certificate in Management from the Rotman School of Management of the University of Toronto and the University College of Caymans Islands.

UCCI has collaborated with the Cayman Islands Society of Human Resource Professionals (CISHRP) to deliver the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) Learning System. SHRM Certification focuses on six HR areas that prepare the student for the certification as either a Professional of Human Resources (PHR®) or a Senior Professional of Human Resources (SPHR®) depending on their area(s) of focus. SHRM is an internationally recognized society, and SHRM certification suits those working in international environments as well as the Cayman Islands.

This course introduces students to the core areas of air transport management including airline and airport operations, marketing, planning and economics. The course is offered as an elective at bachelor level and is suitable for students undertaking business, management & tourism programs. People who may be considering a career in the air transport industry will find this course beneficial for local and international employment.

On successful completion of this course, students will demonstrate knowledge and understanding of:

• The context in which air transport operates, including the functions and sectors allied to air transport, their operation and the links between them
• The key concepts, theories and principles in air transport operations, management and planning
• The linkages and inter-relationships between the elements which constitute the study of air transport operations, management and planning, and the relationships between them and related subjects
• The skills to identify options, to question conventional wisdom, to provide oral and written-form solutions to particular case-studies.

This course is being offered jointly by the University College of the Cayman Islands (UCCI) and the Chartered Institute of Security and Investments (CISI) in the UK. CISI is the largest and most widely respected international professional body for those who work in the securities and investment industry. UCCI's Diploma in Fund Administartion is a 13 month program consisting of four CISI Certificates. The program provides participants with the knowledge and skills relevant to understanding the securities and investment industry and is preparation to sit the CISI external examinations. The courses are taught by experienced UCCI instructors and industry guests and topics are presented as intensive sessions on Friday afternoons and Saturdays. The Certificates can be done as individual qualifications or collectively to form the UCCI Diploma.
